KashYounger is currently in the works with new a couple of new singles and mixed tapes. After "The Ruff Draft" I am eager to see what he has learned and how his music has grown. Shows and other events are in the works. 1lee will post new music as it's ready, so be on the lookout for the new shit coming real soon!
I was listening to a song by Donald Lawrence and The Tri-City Singers. He's a gospel singer for all who don't know. "Encourage Yourself" is the name of the song... What a powerful message. I love when a song can give you a strong feeling of emotion and this song does that just. Music just isn't what is used to be, all genres included. The drive for music seems to be money only. I'm not knocking anyone for making money off of their talent, but there are many "talentless" individuals in the game that shouldn't be and the actual talent is being overlooked for lack of funds... But I digress, this message is supposed to be positive, not negative, life not death. There is a verse in the bible, Proverbs chaper18, verse 21 that states, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue." This verse applies to many situations in our life. People do not realize the weight their own words carry in their lives. The song says:

"sometimes you have to speak the word over yourself
the pressure is all around, but God is present help.
The enemy created walls, but remember giants, they do fall.
Speak over yourself, encourage yourself, in the Lord"

I used to hear this song when I was a child, but it didn't have a real meaning to me until I heard it again as an adult. What this song is telling you is don't continue to speak negative over your life and situations in your life. We are all guilty of this, consciously and subconsciously. From the largest situation to the smallest, you need to start uplifting yourself and not taking everything in life personal. We are tested from every direction everyday by our families, coworkers, etc. Arm yourself with positiveness, not negativeness that way when a test comes at you, you are ready with a clear and conscious mind to pass it. Storms come to make us stronger so we are able to handle situations better the next time. Easier said than done, but try to encourage yourself anyway you can.

Here's a link for the song....copy and paste, it's not hard and worth it.

Powerful Music

These are probably two of the most powerful songs/videos from 2008 that most hip hop heads have never heard or seen. You can still keep it hood/real and be intelligent. That's really the formula for success in any arena. Anyways click here for Killer Mike.

For some strange reason youtube won't allow me to embed Mike Bigga's video.....Interesting

I guess you don't really know what goes on behind someone's closed doors. I wouldn't wish divorce on my worst enemy, so it is sad to see a couple like Shaquille O'Neal and his wife of six years, Shaunie, going through this situation. And to make matters worse, there are people like me who like to blog about their personal life : ) The rumors have been going on for years; she "allegedly" cheated with her personal trainer in 2007, he has "allegedly" cheated many times. I guess him carrying on an "alleged" 5 year relationship with Gilbert Arena's finance was the final straw for Shaunie. Just ridiculous! I do like how she pulled a fast one and snatched their kids out of the FL school system and moved back to California, established legal residency, BEFORE she filed for "legal separation with the intent for divorce". Just a coincidence or was this a move in the right direction for getting a LOT of Shaq's dough? Personally, I hope Shaunie beats Juanita Jordan's settlement amount of 100 million!!!! I'm just saying......

My heart and prayers go out to the victims and everyone effected by the tragedy in Fort Hood, TX. Cherish the time you have with your loved ones. You never know when it will be your last day...

"Get so caught up everyday, tryna to keep it all together, while the time it slips away, you see I know nothing lasts forever. Imagine there was no tomorrow, imagine that I couldn't see your face, there'd be no limit to my sorrow, so all I can say..."

"I wanna tell you something, give you something, show you in so many ways, cause it would mean nothing if I don't say something before it all goes away, don't wanna wait to bring you flowers, waste another hour, let alone another day, I'm gonna tell you something, show you something, won't wait till it's too late."

Since I'm speaking on new music, I'd like to talk about a new up and coming artist. He originates from Arkansas, but currently resides in Dallas, TX and goes by the name of KashYounger and his new mixed tape The Ruff Draft is a force to be reckoned with. It is nice to hear a fresh new voice breaking his way into the rap game. The mixtape has a variety of sounds and elements that highlight his skills. You'll find something for the fellas and the ladies with this one. Check him out on Twitter or Myspace for a sample of what he has to offer. Remember this name guys cause I know we will be hearing more of it in the very near future!

Nicki Minaj seems to be the hot new thing in the rap game. I have much respect for this new artist. I love the versatility she brings to her music and to her look. I can never hate on a woman who is about stepping up her game and empowering other women to do the same. In a recent interview in Honey Magazine, Minaj states she was discovered because of her Myspace page, which she wasn't interested in starting in the first place. Guess it paid off! I can't wait to see what she hits us with in her debut album expected to drop sometime in 2010.
